History of Talanors

TALANORS MANCHESTER TERRIERS.
A potted history.
The Talanors affix first belonged to my previous husband and me, under the name of Knowles. We had been interested in Manchesters for a long time and owned two Dobermanns when we first had a Manchester puppy. She was purchased for my husband by his Father and was a very significant present, as he passed away shortly after. Trixie came from the Brookstream line, I believe she was from their first litter and from their first Bitch, Tyburn Selene at Brookstream.Trix was a whirlwind to hit the household, a lovable character who soon became mine and top dog in the house. She was such a showgirl and I showed her with great success throughout her career. Although she was the first Manchester and the start of Talanors, she never had the name added because she won her first challenge certificate early in her career and before we had an affix. When Bryan Moorhouse had slim lined his kennels in the early 1990’s he had two bitches left in need of good homes and we decided to take his favourite old girl, Manterr Brilliant Lady (Lady, or Birdie as he nicknamed her.) We decided to breed our first litter and chose an affix. Talanor was the name of a beautiful Welsh Cob stallion, well known in the showing circles and owned by a friend of ours. Champion Talanors Ticket To Ride was a puppy from that first litter and is still alive and doing well today at twelve years of age. When my husband and I parted company I kept the Manchesters and continued to show Tess, my new puppy. When I met Clive in 1999 it became of case of ‘Love me, Love my Manchesters.’ This he did and they soon trained him that dogs are allowed in the house and are allowed to sit on the sofa. Clive and I married in 2001, hence the change of name to Mrs. Knight. We then re-assigned the affix and adopted all the dogs. Although Clive doesn’t handle in the ring as yet he is very involved with loving and caring for the dogs. His first midwifery duties were in 2003 for Talanors Top Tricks (Toshy) followed by a litter in September 2004, our latest addition Talanors Trick or Treat (Tia)
Gillian Knight.
